2012 National Coaches Institute: Thursday, June 28 - Sunday, July 1

In the fall of 2009, SportsChallenge Leadership Academy created the National Coaches Institute (NCI), a selective national program developed by coaches for coaches. NCI is designed to teach coaches the methods that inspire the best in themselves and their teams. The concept is to extend the teachings of SportsChallenge by training coaches in the core leadership curriculum that has impacted so many of the student-athletes who have attended the Summer Academy. The NCI takes place at Haverford College (PA) and provides a strong foundation of leadership instruction for coaches to take back to their schools, teams and clubs. Coaches dissect what defines a successful coach and then lay out how to get there. Each coach leaves the NCI with actionable tools and meaningful insights that create positive outcomes in their schools and communities. The 2012 NCI is open to all high school and college coaches; however, it is designed primarily for those relatively new to high school coaching.

Over the course of four days and three nights, the NCI will build on the program’s three pillars: team culture creation, leadership development, and sports psychology tools.  While certain parts of the day are structured, coaches primarily create an NCI program that best meets their needs. During each seminar block, there are options to choose from; so, regardless of  background coaches can build an overall experience specifically tailored to their needs.

• Our curriculum includes 10 research-based Concurrent Seminars.
• Our staff consists of 5 facilitators each with over 20 years of coaching and education experience.
• 7 nationally recognized guest speakers presented during the 2011 NCI.
• Our program boasts a 5:1 coach to staff ratio.
